Hot Springs in the Fall

  • November 9, 2012

I often take Fridays off from my “real job” and enjoy some photography time.  I was hoping to find some fall colors before it was too late.  Oh, and this was my first time shooting since I got my Nikon D600 back from repair!  😀

The above shot was taken while driving over West Mountain to my first official shooting location I had planned.  I just love the winding road surrounded by the remaining fall colors!

While viewing the photo overlay of Google maps, I found the following location with the waterwheel, small waterfall, and stone bridge.  Cool!  How did this place escape me all these years!?

The stone bridge.  Nothing too special going on here to be honest.  Colors weren’t that great and lots of junk in the pond.  Still though, quite an interesting bridge.

I’m glad I noticed this view on my way out.  The yellow tree made for a nice setting even though you can’t see the waterfall.

Next up, Gulpha Gorge.  I was close so I thought I’d see what there was to shoot.  Even with the drought, there is usually enough water to make a pretty cascade here.

Lastly, I went up near the Hot Springs tower to see what kind of views I’d find. Nothing too great in this spot, but I still like the roads with fall colors.
